E Passport Pakistan : PM Imran Khan Inaugurated E-Passport in Pakistan.

E Passport Pakistan: A great initiative of Pakistani government, has been on launchpad finally. The Interior Minister of Pakistan, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has announced on his official twitter handler on 29 March 2022. According to his announcement, the Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate Pakistani E-Passport on 30 March 2022. Later on, 30 March, PM inaugurated E-passport in a ceremony in Islamabad.

E Passport Pakistan benefits:

Sheikh Rashid said, the e-passport is the biggest upgradation in Pakistani passport history since 2004. It will have 29 new security features as a new electronic chip will be added to Pakistani bio-metric e-passport.

Almost all developed countries have installed e-gates at airports for a faster check-in and check-out service. Passengers must have e-passports to use E-gates. As Pakistan is also going to launch e-passport from today, so Pakistani will also able to use those e-gates at airports.

Who can Apply Pakistani E-Passport:

As per announcement by Sheik Rashid, the government officials and Diplomats only, will be eligible for e passport currently. Currently, it will not be available for the ordinary citizens, however, the normal machine readable passport (MRP) is still available for common public. We hope that the new e passport of Pakistan will soon be available for the members of the common public; when? we don’t know.
