Hong Kong Anti-Epidemic Fund Application 2022

Hong Kong Anti-Epidemic Fund Application 2022 has been started. It is the 6th phase of anti-epidemic subsidy scheme by Hong Kong Government. Hong Kong Government has already closed applications for the first, second, third, fourth and fifth round. However, applications are currently opened for the sixth round. The subsidy scheme will help to reduce to financial burden of businesses which are closed due to pandemic. Previously, Government has announced consumption voucher scheme for Hong Kong residents.

Anti-Epidemic Fund Sixth Round:

The sixth round subsidy scheme covers the following businesses:

  • Hair Salons and Barber shops.
  • Environmental Hygiene and Security Staff in property management sector.
  • Sports coaches.

Subsidy scheme for Hair Salons and Barber Shops Application:

Hair salons and barber’s shops has been closed since February 10, 2022. To help them meet their financial need, the government of Hong Kong will provide them with one off subsidy. However, the amount of grant depends on the number of employees in the business. The criteria is given below:

  • up to 15000 HKD for hair salons and barber’s shops which have 1 or 2 workers.
  • up to 30000 HKD for having 3 or 4 workers.
  • up to 50000 HKD for businesses which 5 or more workers.

Businesses with chains of shops and salons can receive maximum up to 1.5 million Hong Kong dollars grant under the sixth round anti-epidemic fund scheme.

Application Date:

Anti-epidemic fund scheme will start receiving application from 09 am, 7 March 2022 till 11:59 pm, 20 March 2022.

How to Apply Anti-Epidemic Fund for Hair Salons and Barber Shops:

There are two methods to apply for Anti-Epidemic fund for Hair Salons and Barber shops depending upon whether they have business registration or not.

  • Those with business registration can apply online. The government of Hong Kong has already launched an online website where applications can be submitted. Click the link given below to access online application website:

  • Those without business registration can apply for the grant through Hong Kong council of social services.

According to the press release of Hong Kong government, nearly 4200 eligible Hair salons and barber shops will have benefit from this scheme.

Anti-epidemic Fund For Security Guard:

Hong Kong government will provide with a grant of 2000 HKD per month to frontline security and hygiene workers. Each eligible worker will get HKD 2K per month for five months, from February to June.

Almost 180000 workers, working in 41500 eligible building blocks.

How to apply for fund:

The home affairs department has formed a commission named “PMSA (Property Management Services Authority)”. PMSA has started distribution of application forms the scheme.

Frontline PM workers employed by PM companies (PMCs), deed of mutual covenant (DMC) managers or owners’ corporations/organizations (OCs/OOs) must submit applications through their PMCs, DMC managers or OCs/OOs. PM workers engaged directly by the premises situated within eligible building blocks should also apply through the PMCs, DMC managers or OCs/OOs of the building blocks concerned. The quota of each eligible building block is a headcount of 100.

Anti-Epidemic fund for Sports Coaches:

On February 28, LCSD (The leisure and cultural services department) has announced the relaunch of fund scheme for sports coaches as sports activities has been suspended since 7 February 2022. Under this, every eligible coach will receive a HKD 10K fund all at once.

Coaches who are registered under National Sports Association or Recognized sports organizations and who are providing coaching services from January 1, 2021 to 28 February 2022 are eligible under this scheme.

How to apply for anti-epidemic fund:

Eligible candidates can submit their application to LCSD office either by post or by visiting office drop in box. The application must be submitted by March 31. The release of fund will be started from March provided that application and documents are complete.
