Saudi Arabia Personal Visit Visa 2026 — Requirements and Application Process

Personal Visit Visa of Saudi Arabia:

If you are thinking of inviting your friends and family members to Saudi Arabia, they will need a valid personal visit visa of Saudi Arabia. A Saudi citizen can invite friends (not only relatives) under the Personal Visit Visa; residents invite relatives under the Family Visit Visa. This visa scheme was launched by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs in December 2022 and is still available in 2026. You can perform Umrah and visit your friends living in Saudi Arabia. (Hajj is not allowed on a visit visa — a separate Hajj visa/permit is required, and violators face fines up to SR20,000, deportation and a 10-year ban.)

In December 2022 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs officially launched the Personal Visit Visa, letting Saudi citizens invite friends and acquaintances (non-relatives) to the Kingdom. As per old laws if a person wanted to invite someone they had to show their business worth and reason for inviting someone such as the need for an employee in the company. There is no requirement that the guest be Muslim (entry to Makkah itself is restricted to Muslims). The invitation is issued by a Saudi citizen sponsor through the MOFA eVisa platform; Saudi residents invite relatives under the separate Family Visit Visa. Before you move forward with your application for a personal visit visa of Saudi Arabia there is some information you should know such as eligibility requirements.

Eligibility Requirements For Personal Visit Visa of Saudi Arabia:

  • We have given some of the mandatory eligibility requirements for passport-holder applicants. The requirements will be different for each country.
  • The applicant should have a valid passport with a six months validity and two blank pages.
  • A customs declaration if carrying currency above the declarable limit, and the completed Saudi visa application form.
  • Two recent passport-size photographs with a white background.
  • Every applicant should have an Authorized letter of invitation given by the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  • Medical insurance from Enjaz, which is approved by the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  • A copy of the return Ticket should be attached to the documents.
  • Hotel booking receipt according to the stay duration.
  • The sponsor submits the invitation on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs eVisa platform (Individual Service, via Nafath); the guest then completes the entry-visa form, pays the fees and medical insurance, and submits documents through Tasheer centers or the Saudi embassy/consulate.

Length of Saudi Personal Visit Visa:

The Personal Visit Visa is a single-entry visa with a stay of up to 90 days. (Rules vary by nationality and season — in 2025 some nationalities were temporarily limited to 30-day single-entry visit visas — so re-check the MOFA platform before applying.) ‘Al-Ziyarat Al-Hajhiyyah’ (Personal Visit) invitation is now possible for Saudi citizens. Guests may travel across the Kingdom, including Madinah; Muslim guests may also visit Makkah. During Hajj season, entry to Makkah requires a Hajj permit. Per the MOFA launch announcement, personal visit visa holders may perform Umrah.

Personal Visit visa Cost:

Visa fees and the mandatory medical insurance for the personal visit visa are paid through Enjaz/Tasheer when the guest submits documents; fees change over time, so confirm the current total on the official platform before applying.
