If we discuss the e-Passport structure, it comes with an electronic embedded chip in a passport page, which can be used to store the biometric information of the passport holder.

The chip stores all the necessary data and biometrics to verify the passport holder’s identity. The personal data includes a unique identification number and a digital signature on the data page of the passport. The E-passports made in Pakistan are in compliance with the United Nations ICAO standards. All passports are printed and shipped from the DGIP headquarters in the capital city of Islamabad.

Benefits of E-passport Pakistan

These passports are traditional Pakistani passports and they are machine-readable and biometric. E-passports are already very common and used in more than 150 countries worldwide. Most countries prefer and have already switched to e-Passport to stay up to date with better border security protocols.

Pakistani Passport Fee Payment Changed from 31st January:

The given screenshot is a Tweet from the Directorate General of Immigration & Passports (DGIP). They shared information about the Pakistani passport fee payment changes from 31st January. The payment system will be changed thoroughly and a new one will be introduced. Everything is done and the only thing left is to wait for the January month to end.

As per the old passport fee payment system, we had to visit and submit a challan to the National Bank of Punjab. Most of the Executive passport offices have an NBP counter set up in the office for passport payments. The new payment system will promote online payment platforms. The fees can be paid via EasyPaisa, JazzCash, Bank transfer, and ATM.

So this app will be the only option available from the 31st of January to pay the Pakistani passport fee. So if you want to apply for a new passport and renew the old one, we suggest you first pay the fee online and then visit the passport office. Previously, we shared the whole online process by ASAAN APP to pay the passport fee online.
