Update: This is a historical record from February 2021. Canada’s Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) ended on August 31, 2024, and the government is no longer accepting new applications under this pilot. The details below are kept for reference only. Official IRCC page (closed pilot).
Claresholm, Alberta had started accepting applications for Canada’s Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP). RNIP is a permanent residency program of Canadian immigration. 11 communities from different provinces of Canada are designated to select candidates for permanent residence. Selected candidates will be able to submit permanent residence applications to federal immigration IRCC of Canada. Permanent residency holders can live and work in Canada along with their family forever.
At the time (February 2021), four communities had already started receiving applications for RNIP, and Claresholm was the fifth community to open for applications. The list of communities open for applications at that time was as follows:
- Brandon, Manitoba
- Altona/Rhineland, Manitoba
- Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario
- Vernon, B.C.
- Claresholm, Alberta
How to apply for this program?
This was a community-driven program. So, you had to submit applications at the official website of any of these communities. You can apply in any community or more than one community. There are three major steps of this program:
- Create a candidate profile at the official website of any community and apply for a job.
- Once you secured a job, you needed to submit an application for recommendation to the same community through their website.
- Once you got a recommendation from any community, you needed to apply for permanent residence. IRCC (federal immigration) received applications for permanent residence.
