Is Umrah’s visa open now? There’s good news for Umrah pilgrims who want to know if Umrah visas are open now. Yes, according to the latest news, Saudi Arabia has started accepting visa applications from abroad. People who couldn’t visit the Holy Shrines of Makkah and Medina during the Hajj season can visit Saudi Arabia for Umrah now. Umrah permits for the residents of Saudi Arabia will be issued from the 19th of Dhu al-Hijjah.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umra has recently announced that all the preparations for Umrah are completed by the Saudi authorities. They look forward to accommodating Umrah pilgrims from all over the world. The Saudi Minister gave a green flag and said Muslims who want to visit Saudi Arabia for Umrah can now apply for a visa at the relevant embassies from July 14. Hence, visa processing has been started all over the world.

The residents who applied for an Umrah visa within Saudi Arabia will be issued a special permit for performing Umrah. Hopefully, the caravans of pilgrims coming to perform will start arriving in Saudi Arabia from 1st Muharram 1444. Applicants who don’t have a Muslim name are advised to submit proof obtained from their local masjids or Islamic organizations verifying that their religion is Islam.

COVID-19 Rules for Umrah Visa

Authorities have strictly said that they will ensure all the health measures are put in place. There will be no compromise for the safety of pilgrims during the Umrah season, starting from July 30, SPA reported. All the visa applicants should be vaccinated with a vaccine listed as approved by Saudi Arabia’s government. The vaccine certificate is mandatory and should be presented at the time of applying for an Umrah visa.

Umrah Visa Requirements 2022

Before you submit an Umrah visa application form, there are some documents needed to be prepared:

  • Umrah visa application form with correct details.
  • One fresh passport-size photograph.
  • Valid passport with a six-month validity period.
  • Purchase proof of non-refundable flight tickets.
  • Evidence of a relationship with female pilgrims and their ‘mahram’ (partner/brother/father).*
  • Health insurance that covers Covid-19 as well.
  • Proof of meningitis vaccination.
