Manitoba Express Entry Pathway

The Manitoba Express Entry Pathway is a part of many immigration streams of the Skilled Workers Overseas categorized within the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), the province of Manitoba is responsible for the operating of any Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). If you are a foreign national with an active Express Entry profile and possess skills and foreign work experience then you are more likely to be selected through Skilled Workers Overseas Stream. They are targeting people who will provide their services to Manitoba’s labor force.

If you are amongst the Manitoba Express Entry Pathway nominated candidates, you will further get an invitation to submit your Canadian permanent residency application. MPNP Ranking System is used to rank all the candidates in this team. The most competing profiles will be selected and invited to submit an application.

Eligibility and Requirements for Manitoba Express Entry Pathway:

Express Entry Profile

There are three Canada Express Entry immigration programs and if you want to be eligible for Manitoba Express Entry Pathway, you should have one active profile in the three following programs:

  • Federal Skilled Worker (FSW)
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
  • Federal Skilled Trades (FST)

Applicants should attach a copy of their IRCC profile to the MPNP.

Connection to Manitoba

If you want to apply for the Manitoba Express Entry Pathway, you should show your interest and ability that you are economically established and live in Manitoba. You can do this with the support of a close friend or family member living in Manitoba or if you have a valid Invitation to Apply (ITA) issued by MPNP via Strategic Recruitment Initiative.

Language Proficiency

If you are one of the candidates who had an occupation at National Occupational Classification (NOC) Skill Level 0 or A, then it mandatory to provide valid language results to prove proficiency equal to the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher. If you are one of the candidates who had an occupation at National Occupational Classification (NOC) Skill Level B, then it mandatory to provide valid language results to prove proficiency equal to the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 6 or higher.

Education Level Requirement

The candidate should have completed at least a post-secondary program of one year. For candidates who completed their post-secondary education outside of Canada can submit an Educational Credential Assessment with their candidate’s profile. If you have completed the post-secondary education before the minimum requirement will claim more points because of MPNP Ranking System. Only the one with the highest ranking will be invited to the program, candidates having post-secondary training will get an advantage in the ranking pool.

Work Experience

6 months minimum full-time work experience in a Manitoba Occupation. Again, if you have proof of more work experience then you will get additional points.  The candidate will be further asked to provide their career plans showing their employment purposes in Manitoba.

Points Assessment Grid

If a candidate wants to qualify for the Manitoba Express Entry Pathway, then it’s important for the candidate to at least have 60 out of 100 points on the Manitoba Points Assessment Grid. Success is not guaranteed if you meet the minimum requirement. MPNP Ranking System is used to rank candidates.

Future Settlement Plan

Candidates applying to the MPNP streams should submit a future settlement plan for having a life in Manitoba.

Settlement Funds

Candidates need to show proof of debt funds equal to Low Income Cut-Off (LICO) requirements as described by Canada’s federal immigration authorities.

Application Procedure for Manitoba Express Entry Pathway

The Manitoba Express Entry Pathway works on a system of Expression of Interest (EOI). Candidates who meet the minimum given eligibility and requirements can register their profile via the MPNP Online portal. After submitting the profile the candidates are scored ranked with MPNP Ranking System. The highest-ranking candidates are further issued a Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA).

The candidate has a deadline of 60 days to submit a well-prepared and complete education once the LAA is received. You can use the MPNP Online portal to create an account and submit your application. The selected applicant will be issued a provincial nomination for permanent residency from Manitoba.

Notification of nomination will be sent to the IRCC online account of candidates who applied via Express Entry.  If the provincial nomination is accepted, additional 600 points will be added to the applicant’s Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. This is a virtual guarantee that the applicant will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency in the upcoming express entry draws.

Application Processing Timeframe

Once the ITA is received, the applicant should now prepare and submit an official application for Canadian permanent residency within the given deadline. The applications submitted through Express Entry for permanent residency are processed within six months minimum.
