Categories of Singapore Work visa:

There are three major categories of Singapore work visa:

  1. Personalized Employment Pass (PEP):

It is granted to highly qualified Professionals, Managers, Executives or Specialists with good experience. Overseas foreign professional whose last drawn fixed monthly salary overseas was at least $18,000

  • The last drawn fixed monthly salary overseas should be no more than six months from the time of the application.

Current Employment Pass holders

  • Employment Pass holders must earn fixed salary of at least $12,000 a month.

THE FOLLOWING CANDIDATES ARE NOT ELIGIBLE for PEP:

  • Foreigners who are working or intending to work on a free-lance basis without any direct employers in Singapore;
  • Foreigners who are listed as Sole Proprietors, Partners or Directors in a business/company registered with ACRA and are shareholders of that business/company.
  • Foreigners working as journalists, editors, sub-editors and producers.
  • Holders of PEP pass are not allowed to start their own company in Singapore.
  1. S Pass:

It is granted to diploma or certificate holders; Mid-level skilled workers (e.g. Technicians). Eligibility for this type of Work visa depends upon the following criteria:

  • Fixed monthly salary – $2,200
  • Education qualifications
  • Job type

Work experience

  1. Work Permit for foreign Worker:

It is granted to Semi-skilled or unskilled foreign workers in in the construction, manufacturing, marine shipyard, process or services sector.

The applicant should be:

  • From an approved source country or region by MOM
  • Minimum age of 18 years old.
