Canada to welcome more than double immigrants for Newfoundland and Labrador

Immigration minister Ahmed Hussen in order to increase the immigrants of target of the province from 1700 to at least 4000 by 2022.

O’Regan has told in a meeting of the St. John’s Board of Trade this week that the immigration minister Of Canada was a Somali refugee and he turned to a minister and we let it happened. O’Regan said 4,000 new immigrants is the baseline for keeping the social effects of Newfoundland and Labrador’s shrinking tax base from getting worse in perspective of outmigration and a population that is aging “at an incredible rate”.

O’Regan say that Newfoundland and Labrador province needs 4000 newcomers every year in order to maintain the status qou but I don’t want only status quo, rather I want to boost the economy of the province. I want new jobs and prosperity in the province. So, we need more immigrants for this purpose.

It is predicted by government the the province will face a reduction of 10% in its working-age population, consequently 35000 people will be lessened from the labor market by 2025. The province is already accepting foreigners in current years, from 546 in 2007 to 1122 in 2015

which in increasing steadily.

O’Regan says the people of Newfoundland and Labrador are ready to welcome foreigners. They are ready to open doors for immigrants. Community is welcoming them when they will come here. Doors of our home and heart are open for them.

O’Regan says that immigrants are not going to steal our jobs, rather they are more likely to start their own business and create more jobs. They use less resources than us.
